    Yalova has numerous transportational advantages due to its geographical location and closeness to certain adjacent industrial hubs.

    Geographically, Yalova is in close vicinity to metropolitan cities such as İstanbul, Kocaeli and Bursa. Linked to neighboring cities via land, maritime and airline routes, Yalova has numerous transportational advantages due to its geographical location and closeness to certain adjacent industrial hubs. Situated between cities of Kocaeli and Bursa, there has been ever increasing volume of sea and land passanger traffi c in Yalova. Moreover, Yalova has a strategic location in linking and providing access routes between Europe, Aegean and Mediterranean regions.

    Land Transportation
    Yalova is linked with its neighboring cities via land routes and highways. Asphalt roads links Yalova both to its neignboring cities and districts. The land route linking Yalova to southern city of Bursa is rugged and crooked because it passes through Samanlı mountains. Roadwork has been intensifi ed to increase the standards of this well-trodden route. Through Yalova-Bursa connection, it is possible to have an access to central Anatolia, Aegean and Mediterranean regions as well. Yalova-Kocaeli connection is crucial in connecting the city not only to İstanbul but also tocentral Anatolia. The total road network within the city is 334 km, of which 90 km is highway, 179 km is village road. The asphalt road comprises 288 km of the road network; remaing 43 km is stabilized road and 3 km levelled road. Regarding village roads, 133 km asphalt, 43 stabilized , 3 km levelled road.

    Maritime Transportation
    As a coastal city, Yalova lends itself to maritime transportation of passangers and freight shipment. While passanger transportation is provided by cityline streamers and seabusses, freight and vehicle transportation is carried out by ferryboats and car ferries. There are regular express and seabus services. Apart from the regular ferryboat services to Yenikapı and Pendik, there are car ferry lines between Eskihisar and Topçular. Yalova Marina was launched on 9 November 1996 and its construction has been sped up. Upon its completion, the volume of touristic activities will skyrocket and it will render service to approximately 300 yachts.
